HOW TO REMOVE STUBBORN WIDGETS FROM YOUR BLOG TEMPLATE

Hey thanks for visiting my blog,in this blog post am going to show you hows to remove stubborn or rather unwanted widgets from a blog template you just recently bought or a free template.

I have often found trouble trying to remove some widgets that come with some templates,reason for removing them could be because they probably on the wrong position or you probably dont want that kind of widget.

For those using Google blogger platform,You can edit your templates layout in the layout section.
Some widgets can not easily be removed reason known only to the person that was coding the template.

widgets that can be removed have 3 options, SAVE, CANCEL and REMOVE,

But sometimes you find that you want to remove a widget in the layout sections but you find that it does not have the a remove option but only has 2 options which are SAVE and CANCEL

This here is what i call a stubborn widget because i have been struggling with it for a while but since i love making changes to templates i  found a way to change the properties and actually being able to remove the widget. When a widget only shows the SAVE and CANCEL option it means it is locked and cannot be removed without changing its properties.                                                                             

Go to your template,select edit html,click inside the template code and press Ctrl + F a search box will appear,type in the name of the widget you want to edit,in this case the widget in our example is for Random post,type in Random post you will see something like this                                                   

 Edit the value of locked from "true" to false,save the template go  to the layout section edit the 

 desired widget you should see 3 options,click on remove and save the lay and you are done .
