WHAT TO DO AFTER INSTALLING WINDOWS 10

You are now happy that you installed windows 10,congratulation,but its not yet over there still a few things you need to do before you start familiarizing yourself with the ins and outs of the software, take a tour around these five settings and make sure Windows 10 is working the way you want.

Activate  or deactivate Cortana

 

After installing windows 10 Cortana won’t necessarily be enabled straight away (she wasn’t when we upgraded). Click the Start button, choose Cortana, then open the Notebook (third icon down)—you can turn Cortana on and off as well as enable or disable the “hey Cortana!” voice command

Check your default app Association

 

After installing windows 10 you will notice that all of your default file associations have  disappeared (controlling which files open in which apps). Setting these links works the same as ever: right-click on a file, choose Open with then Choose another app; be sure to tick the Always open

Disable wifi sharing 

 

After installing windows 10 you will notice wifi sense   a  new Windows 10 feature that automatically shares access to your wifi with contacts on Skype, Facebook and Outlook.if you don't like this feature  it is necessary to switch it on then switch it off and only switch on when needed.

Start menu customisation

 

As cool as it sounds everyone is happy that you can actually customize your start menu as you wish though is not that important you can skip it if you want,its the first thing i did after installing windows 10.

 

Schedule for a restart

 

Sometimes windows will install updates without you knowing but it would be rude to restart your system after installing the updates without you know and for changes to take effect make sure to schedule a restart and to do this Search for “advanced update” from the task-bar, choose Advanced Windows Update options and then change the top setting to Notify to schedule restart.

 

Tweak notifications

 

Some notification can be annoying,don't let them piss you off, click the notifications icon in the system tray to view it, and change how these alerts appear—choose All settings, System, Notifications & actions and you can customize how alerts appear.

Install drivers

 

after installing windows 10 , one i would recommend using driver pack solution 15 latest version on if you notice some feature related to hardware are not working.

Install core Windows applications

After installing windows 10 We can now install our favourite applications and programs like anti-viruses though i prefer sticking to the default windows 10 anti-virus windows defender applications that may not come with windows,now would be the time to install them.
